Hey guys!
I have a question for those who've been at this whole Bunt thing for more than just the past month...
Should I be attempting to stockpile a crap-ton of coins up for a major blow-out at some point? I generally wait to buy packs until they're 50% off, or I'll crash and buy all the Pitcher packs (more of a PTS guy than a collector...). But should I be avoiding the sales and stockpiling for a huge deal, or is that about as good as it's going to get as far as deals?

As hard as it may be, you should really save up. If you save up and buy no packs for 2 weeks you will end up with 30,000 coins. The sale packs are great, but what I've noticed is that they usually come in before Topps releases a special limited time pack. Most of the time these packs are great and worth the coins. So long story short, you should save up until a limited pack, and check around here to see if anyone has opened that specific pack and ask for what the outcome was, then you can buy up or just not buy at all (If it was like the most recent black pack). @padres100 good advice. Some times I will post if certain packs run hot example the single 200 pack was loaded few weeks ago.

Thanks guys! I fell victim to the "black pack" and got a silver Cook... Almost made me want to quit entirely... I think I'll have to try to turn myself away from the News feed and the store every weekend (that's when I seem to fall victim...).
In other news, does anyone want to trade me for a silver Cook? (lol)

I think I'll have to try to turn myself away from the News feed and the store every weekend (that's when I seem to fall victim...). In other news, does anyone want to trade me for a silver Cook? (lol) Yeah, i think most people that saw the black pack and had the coins went for it instantly. I actually got a gold SP in it, and was confused at that, but judging by what many other people got, that was pretty good |

To Leeobrien's point, the sale packs are sometimes the best deals (Cinco de Mayo/American Spirit).

I agree with Leeobrien, I loved the Cinco de Mayo packs, spent all my coins I had on them. The American Spirit one,, ehh,, was ok,,but too much coin for not many cards that were special. I pulled 2 Scherzer golds from them, which was cool, but then junk after. I try to save up and have spent about 445 in a month to buy packs ,,

I had 14k saved up and used it all on the American spirit packs yesterday, was able to pull 2 Mathews HOF cards, wright gold, 2 Jeter gold, Gardner gold, shields gold, goldschmidt gold, Holliday gold and Greinke gold. So the packs were pretty good for me

I had 14k saved up and used it all on the American spirit packs yesterday, was able to pull 2 Mathews HOF cards, wright gold, 2 Jeter gold, Gardner gold, shields gold, goldschmidt gold, Holliday gold and Greinke gold. So the packs were pretty good for me Yep. Those are the results of saving up I have saved up 12k for the Twitter pack tomorrow. Hope its worth it!! |
