Well it says there are 14 trout cards
If the 1:270 is true that means they sold atleast 3780 packs yesterday.
The first time they released the twitter pack they sold 5000 in 8 mins

The first time they released the twitter pack they sold 5000 in 8 mins Hopefully that's a sign that people are realizing how bad of a deal it is. At that rate, it would take almost 20 days for him to sell out. However, less and less people will buy every day, as most of the people who wanted to try for him (and had deep enough in-game pockets) have already done so. Sure, a few more people will spend hundreds trying to get it, but I doubt that the card will reach 270 until the beginning of July. Therefore, I can't see Topps keeping the price on this pack up.

Sooner or later TOPPS has to realize the appetite for chasing a given insert in a specialized pack at high prices and low odds is eroding. This Trout/Fire/Boost is the dumbest pack yet. Lower it to 5,000 coins/pack and make it 1:100 odds and some folks will buy. I often buy a few of such specialized packs to see the quality of the other cards offered. I won't buy a few if these. When the mascot packs were reduced to 7,500, I bought three packs. Got lucky and pulled a Paws, but the others cards were all base/green/red's which I'd rather not have any more of. In addition to lower prices, better odds, the 'quality' of what you pull in these specialized packs needs to improve.

They at least have some value

I don't think they will let it sit there for 20 days, if no one is buying they will drop the price like they did with the mascot packs.
It seems like topps is starting a trend with the higher priced packs
First it was the duel sig pack, then the mascots, now the trout fire pack. Also somewhere in there they threw in the dickey pack for 40k coins.
Things would be better if they just threw everything in the 7th inning pack and they would sell a lot of pack. It's fine if you keep the odds of the trout at 1:270. But more packs would sell and it if don't get a trout you still have a chance at other inserts(POTW, SNB, GM, etc.)
Every insert doesn't need it's own pack, and if they are going to do it that way they need to drop the pack prices like they did with the 1974 archive cards.

The problem isn't the 1:270 odds, it's that they are making a separate pack for every insert now. Making packs for things like the 74 archives was bad enough, but the mascot packs and now this Trout pack really are too much. Topps should have 3 or 4 packs, maybe something like Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and have ALL inserts available in ALL packs - just make the chance of pulling one a lot less in a Bronze pack. From time to time they could release limited Jumbo packs of all levels, as an example. That way every player, from the young broke kid to the adult big spender will be excited about every new insert Topps churns out because everyone would have a shot. The Platinum packs would have the best insert odds, of course.
Edit - I actually missed longo9's post above mine, he says essentially the same thing. I bet a lot of people feel the same way.

I don't have a huge problem with the Archives packs because they weren't terribly hard to obtain 1:270 is ridiculous though
