Hello everyone - I know this is not exactly "on topic", but it is baseball related at least !

I thought you'd be interested in knowing that one of your own just became an owner of a baseball team ! That's right, last Monday, a new team in Ottawa, Ontario was announced, the Ottawa Champions, and I am a minority owner. This is a team in the independent pro league, CanAM, so not affiliated with MLB, but hey - still baseball

I started an organization in 2012, the Champions for Ottawa Baseball to drive community support for a new team to play in our 10k seat ballpark. The Champions had a season ticket deposit drive, created a new charity for Canada's first Miracle League field and playground structure for special needs children (www.miracleleagueofottawa.ca) and held several community events to secure support and drive interest.

On Monday June 16th, the Mayor, myself and Miles Wolff, the Commissioner of the CanAM League announced the team name and my role as President !
