Hey everyone,
I am having a tough time trying to figure out the concept of the cards to collect. I used to collect real NBA cards back in the day and enjoy this experience as well. However, I just don't understand the concept. As a Cardinals Fan I am going for all the cards I can get but other than that I am clueless where to go. At first I went after inserts and have quite a few opening days and Sabers. I just saw that you can get coins for winning weekly points challenges, so I was thinking about trading my inserts for more gold and silver cards. I am currently #22 this week on the Cardinals section.
Am I right for going that route or is there something I am missing?
The other thing I am struggling with a lot is understanding the value of cards in general. The new red and green cards seem to be very rare right now. I am guessing the numbers will go up a lot but right now I can ask more for them. For example I just got offered a gold Trout for my Jered Weaver Fan's choice, red Rosenthal, red Andrus, green Holliday and green Myers. By just comparing the numbers of cards being out right now this seems to be a bad trade for me at the moment but in a few days it might be in my favor.
I would appreciate if some of you could give me some of your opinions and how you handle the whole experience.
Thank you very much in advance.
Cheers from Germany Simon

If you are a points player, you wan to look at points production not rarity if not inserts. Pitchers get tons more points than hitters about 300 more with their gold cards. For example, Chris Sale gold earn me +414 points in his last game and that is more than any other hitters combined score. However, this person is kind of stupid to offer you gold trout but he has less points combined than chris sale's last start. With that package is good you can probably fool this person into giving you a gold pitcher and make sure its a real good one look at the sort and sort by points earned and 2014 cards. Find the pitchers at the top of his list and try to get one of them.

Sounds like u want to play balanced collect some inserts but also play points. My suggestion is. Focus on pts cards of teams u follow. First. Then collect the pitchers of that team. As priority then position players. Also collect the teams your teAm is play in the upcoming weeks. Pitches score a lot of pts. But will burn u if left in to long while getting beat to death. I pull pitchers out or watch closely after 60 pitches. Also u get pts for defens. See the pts section in here for help.
For inserts. Just enjoy when u get one and only focus on a few that u like. That way it will not drive u crazy trying to collect them all
