Well last year, it wasn't really a big competition. Max Scherzer broke out, and got greatly rewarded. But this is a new start for a new year. Many new, improved pitchers trying to make a point, and old veterans trying to continue their dominance. Well first off, let's think of the usual candidates, who we already know of as great pitchers. There is the great Justin Verlander, the pitcher trying to prove last year was not a fluke in Max Scherzer, the sneaky pick in Chris Sale, the guy getting better every year Anibal Sanchez, the Asian superstar in YU Darvish, and can't forget The King- Felix Hernandez.
All of those pitchers have a chance of being Cy Young. They've proven their dominance, and have shown no chance in slowing down. Most of them are getting better all the time, and are a huge part of team. They would most likely be no where close without them, giving 100% every 5 days. Another important part is that all are durable, avoiding getting injured. My predictions are most likely gonna be wrong. Though I believe that King Felix will win it. Why? Because of his consistency. He rarely has a bad game, and if he does he'll bounce back. And now that he has run support, he can focus on pitching. He never gets injured and is a big player in Seattle. My second pick would be YU Darvish, and I finally think that JV will get third. Some sleeper pick I have are Sonny Gray and Alex Cobb. They both ended the season greatly, and had the same Spring Training. But who knows in baseball.
