Now that the first week of the MLB season is underway, I wanted to see how all you BHK members did and what strategies you employed to get there.
I finished 3rd among Cards fans and 46th overall with 11,999 points. My main strategy was to trade for as many starting pitchers as possible and manage my lineup accordingly as the games started. Whenever the pitcher was pulled, I would put in stars from the team playing (Good example is putting in Miggy whenever Scherzer got the hook). Also I was able to jump a few places by targeting SNB players earlier in the week for trade before the values went crazy. Since SNB is the only game scheduled, there is a limited amount of players you can play (plus it's one of the only times I am guaranteed to watch baseball during the week).
What moves are you making to rise on the points list?

Another strategy I went after was trading for players on west coast teams as their games start much later than everyone else. That way I have maximum players playing at all times.

I used mlb gameday to watch top batters that I have cards of get into good pitch counts. And put them in when it was favorable. Scored big with Troi hunter this past week

Did OK this week considering i stopped playing on Friday. Finished 3rd in Phillies despite leading for most of the week and 51st overall. i used ESPN Gamecast pretty much just followed along focusing on having pitchers in mainly and would always put batters due up next inning in before the inning started so that i would have plays available to pull them if they got into unfavorable counts.

It was my first full week of going for points in Bunt. I ended up 4th among Indians fans and 150th overall with just over 7500. Learned pretty quickly that starting pitchers were the way to go. Spent a lot of time gathering a variety of starters. As for hitters, I put in a few of the big name guys, like Miggy and Trout, and let them go. When I wasn't at work and had time to actually watch the game, I would put in hitters when they had favorable counts and situations. I'd also pull pitchers when they looked like they were getting in to trouble.

Also watch out for pitchers who are notorious for bad 1st inngs.

Also, don't leave 9 players in while you aren't paying attention, especially pitchers!

Yes. Good example is cosset is wild and walked in a run as we speak. If u have his file in it's not going to be good outcome
