While I will admit that that is a good form of scumbaggery, I won't say that that is the only reason for the Yankees success.

Oh God I hate Yankees fans and the Yankees with all my heart. I run into Yankees fans I'm Minnesota and Carolina and it makes me sick that people are that weak loyalty-wise
Win Twins!

I am a born and bred Red Sox fan. Unfortunately, when Buckholz used sunscreen and talc on his forearm that opens the flood gates for other pitchers to compete against you in the same manner.

I would assure you that EVERY team has had a pitcher that has broken the rules (i.e. used pine tar or another illegal substance). So I guess that makes all mlb teams scumbags?

Yankees fan here...There is nothing wrong with the pine tar Pineda had on his hands...Everyone commented on it last night.
Buchholtz and Lester's antics were worse because nobody knew (originally)what substance they were using. Even then, every pitcher for the past 100+ years has tried to get the upper hand against batters. This isn't something new, everyone needs to get over it...

Pineda was ejected from tonights game vs. the Red Sox for having Pine Tar on his neck. How stupid is he? MLB is at fault too for not disciplining him after the first time. They have to give him a 5 game suspension now. We all know that pitchers will use what they can to get an advantage but they're at least discreet about it.

Pine tar is not a banned substance...Pitchers use it for the same reason why hitters apply it to their bat. That being said, you dont make it obvious you're using it like Pineda did...thats the problem.

It's not bad, but he just made it TOTALLY obvious! Why not just scream: I have pine tar, come and get me ejected. Pineda, at least hide it well! I even saw it, it was bad, everyone uses it, but everyone can at least hide it
