I have Heritage Scherzer in along with a silver and green. I would think that the Heritage Scherzer would score more than either of the other two, but the base cards are scoring WAY more. (311 for scarce base vs 183 for super rare heritage insert.)
Is this a bug? Is there any reason to play inserts if you have base?

I haven't gotten a single put out from Ozzie smith since I pulled him week 2! |

Inserts will score the same as the base commons. Unless otherwise advertised ... such as the David Wright (black).

That's because the Silver and Green are multipliers and inserts are not.
