Alright, so I am relatively new to the game (started around the beginning of the MLB season...), and since I've been playing, I've been much more into the "play" portion of the game than the collecting cards/inserts/awards portion. I've built myself a pretty good amount of SP's for any given day (mostly whites, but hey, points are points, right?).
When they came out with the Hall of Fame Heroes set, however, it piqued my interest a lot, as my Dad and I used to talk about the "old guys" a lot, and I kinda like "vintage" sets with old players, etc. So, I decided I'd try to collect these cards if I could, and I was able to get Reese before he went Sold Out. Things got more serious a 2 days ago in when I was able to acquire Red and Whitey in the same day, which left me only Mathews and Mays to collect. I could see that these ones were going to be difficult, but I still wanted this collection, and I wanted the Ted Williams Sig as well.
So, yesterday and today, I've been trying to trade with anybody (sorry if I spammed anyone of you, I was kinda desperate... and thanks to Tyler for the Ryan which gave me coins to buy another pack...) to get Mathews and Mays, offering full sheets of inserts, Gold SP's, and whatever other combo I could think of. Nothing yesterday, but I still wanted to try to get it done, figuring that since this was a "Memorial Day" set, I would have until tomorrow to get the set complete (ya know, cause it's Memorial Day...). So, in between Church and my nephew's birthday party, I popped in to switch out my SP's/Check my trades, and I was able to get Mays on a quick deal.
So, I'm playing baseball with my brother-in-law, nephew, and my son, when my phone goes off with a Twitter notification that the Ted Williams sig has been given out.
This is probably the most angered I have ever been at a virtual game ever (and I was defeated by Shredder in TMNT II multiple times....). Who does that? Who announces only 2 or so hours in advance an award of this type? I mean, it might not be the biggest award ever (or is it? I don't know...), but this was a huge deal for me, because this was the first set I was trying to collect for the award. I was working on getting Mathews, but I was only able to pop in and out so as not to be that douche in the corner on his phone at his nephew's b-day party.
Why in the world would they not wait until tomorrow to do the release? Did I miss an earlier announcement?
I'm just so frustrated with this app right now, and I'm having to talk myself out of not being so frustrated at digital pictures and the individuals controlling them.
Sorry to ramble on and on about this, but seriously, who does that?!? A Sunday afternoon. Sunday. Afternoon. Why? (if it helps, read this message out loud in a very high-pitched scream, because that's about how frustrated I am right now...)
I can say that this definitely does not make me want to spend any actual money on this game at all. I'm not going to pretend like I invest all sorts of money into it, but I gave away probably 12-15 Gold SP's in pursuit of this, an then they pulled this stuff on me... ughhhhhhhhhhhh. Done. Sorry to waste everyone's time, but this is just about the most angry I could get at a video game... Bunt, you're a wicked master....
