Once again, Topps issued more copies of a sig than they announced originally. When the Getz sig was released, they said there would only be 400 total of the white sig, but after this morning's update the card count shows at 500.
It shouldn't be hard to keep this from happening. And they should acknowledge the error, rather than ignoring it and trying to cover it up (like they did with the NY dual). Let's see what happens this time.

It's because they messed up the release of the Archive Card Packs and included the Getz sig in there.

I don't know which is more shocking: (1) The fact that they responded to this issue at all; or (2) The fact that they think calling it a typo and leaving it at that is an adequate response.
For several days, people have been trading the card as a 400 count sig. Anyone who traded for one before today got screwed royally.

People are acting like they still wouldn't have traded for the Getz sig.... when they clearly would have. Getz sig isn't required for the legendary sig so it was purely out of want.

I've gone to hundreds of Royals games and the Getz sig was not even desirable to me.

People are acting like they still wouldn't have traded for the Getz sig.... when they clearly would have. Getz sig isn't required for the legendary sig so it was purely out of want. It's not about that. I actually didn't trade for one; I pulled one while chasing the StL Dual, and traded it away for a Hanley Ramirez Fired Up. I then pulled two more yesterday out of the Archives packs. I'm not complaining for myself, but if I had been interested in trading for the card, I would have paid for it at the 400-count sig level (Dickie, LA Dual). With good reason, since that is what Topps announced it would be. Now, it is worth less (not worthless, but worth less) since it is actually a 500-count sig. A similar thing happened with the NY dual, which was announced at 400 and then they distributed 475 and simply changed the old articles with no announcement of an error of any kind. These kind of things can happen in a digital game, and it erodes trust. Trust isn't essential for the PTS aspect of BUNT, but it is essential for the trading and collecting aspect.

Topps track record for limited cards is comical dating back to the huddle limiteds. There were many mess ups on award limited counts, limited cards getting leaked, or even limited cards getting rereleased. I don't trust what they say one bit and neither should you. Trade for cards that have value to you and not card counts as they aresubject to change!
