Today, the baseball world lost one of the greatest players of this generation and the greatest padres of all time. Tony Gwynn Sr. passed away today after losing his battle with salivary gland cancer. You will be missed dearly, Mr. Gwynn. Mr. Padre has gone home to to the Mission in the Sky.

He was one of the only truly great and classy players. The best Padre ever is gone. Hopefully, he is now in a better place, where cancer can no longer plague him. His great attitude and hardworking nature made him great on and off the field. Rest in peace, Tony Gwynn.
