The new set called the Firemen Series is intended to showcase the leauge's top closers. Cards announced so far are Rafael Soriano and Joe Nathan (Completion Award). Both of these guys could be in the set, but I would've expected the award card to be Rodriguez from the Brewers who has been by far the best closer this season....Here is how I think the set should end up:
1. Sergio Romo - Giants 2. Kenley Jansen - Dodgers 3. Craig Kimbrel - Braves 4. Huston Street - Padres 5. Steve Cushek - Marlins 6. Johnathan Papelbon - Phillies 7. Rafael Soriano - Nationals 8. Greg Holland - Royals
Completion Award: Francisco Rodriguez - Brewers
If Topps sticks to making this set for the current top closers, in my opinion, it should look like this. If not, it is just another set like aces.

Why no Janssen (Jays), Ball-Four, Uehara, Rosenthal?

Street, Paps, Jansen and Romo shouldn't be in it.

Yeah it's funny how a lot of the "Aces" had cold as a PTS radar.

It would have been amazing if they had selected a premier HoF-bound closer, such as Mo, for the award. Joe Nathan just sucks.

I remember Mike mentioned earlier that they don't have Mo's rights anymore

I just figured out how they made this set. It is by the top active all-time closers. With that being said, here is the list for top career active closers:
1. Joe Nathan, 356 Saves - Tigers 2. Francisco Rodriguez, 329 - Brewers 3. Jonathan Papelbon, 303 - Phillies 4. Jose Valverde, 288 - Mets 5. Huston Street, 254 - Padres 6. Fernando Rodney, 193 - Mariners 7. Rafael Soriano, 192 - Nationals 8. J.J. Putz, 189 - Diamondbacks 9. Kevin Gregg, 177 - Marlins 10.Joakim Soria, 175 - Rangers 11.Brian Wilson, 171 - Dodgers
Of course, I still believe that the award should've been two cards; The top AL career Closer, Marino Rivera, and of course (because I'm biased) they also had to put the top NL career closer, Trevor Hoffman

avley. Janssen is very underrated league wide. He deserves to be in there but only Jose and Edwin get league wide attention.

Nathan leads the league in saves of current closers though. So personally I think it's a good choice.

Honestly, this is how I'd do the set.
1) Soriano 2) Kimbrel 3) Jansen 4) Romo 5) K-Rod 6) Glen Perkins (Nobody talks about how good this guy has been in the role) 7) Greg Holland (Again) 8) Chapman 9) Papelbon (Still been quite solid this season) 10) Uehara
Unless they've had the set planned out for a while, it's entirely possible Grilli makes the set, which I'm hoping doesn't happen personally.
I'd make arguments for Joakim Soria as well, but that's me.
