I always finish around 1100-1300 in the points standings. I start pitchers for noon afternoon evening and late night games. I was hoping for some tips to push through and maybe even get a BOB card.

Don't just put 'em in for the entire game. Find a game, like today's White Sox Blue Jays game. Put 9 Buehrle in to start, bottom of inning put a 2 or 3 Quintanas in. Top of 2nd replace the 2 or 3 Quintanas with Buehrle's so you'll be back to 9 of him. Bottom of second put some Quintanas back in. Buehrle's prob the better pitcher, so I'd go with more of him. The challenge is to not exhaust all of your plays. You'll need a supply for the 4:00 games. Keep in mind this is just an initial strategy. You'll need to adjust based on who's pitching good. Watch other games for a hot pitcher. Hope this helps and good luck. Let us know how you do.

. . . and if you can find some Lackey's for tonights game, that'll definately help. Most folks shooting to get under 1,000 probably don't have many of him, so if he pitches well and you have a few, than can help put you over the top. I can give you a base Lackey if it'll help. Just send me you're crappiest card in exchange for it. Good luck! OG.

I made top 1000 for the first time last week. The biggest help is of course having lots of gold SPs. I'm not as active as the other folks on here--I don't swap my pitchers in-between innings--so I've adopted a different strategy. I usually can only check the games every couple innings, so I practice some diversity to mitigate my risk. I can always swap in more or less as the game progresses. If I don't have enough pitchers to fill all my slots, I pick batters who tend to have more ups than downs. This will never get me into the 500 ranks, but it's good for someone who doesn't have a lot of time.

The one tactic I've added to move up in the ranking is to pay attention to the later stages of a game and identify the closer that needs to be put in.

If you can, I like to go for opportunities to save or score extra points. If you're watching a game and the bases are loaded, I'll use a play to sub in the next batter for a pitcher I might have starting. You gotta do it fast depending on the warm-up time though.
