Not sure if this is a 2012 or 2013 card but it shows up on the 2012 card sheet. Just curious what the deal is with this card. I assume no one has it since it's a (0) count? Thanks for any info!

IIRC they were 2012 cards (I started in 2013) that went black and white in 2013 because the players retired. They went for a fortune until the great Topps balls up ended with them being devalued (sound familiar?) greatly. Kerry Wood was one of those guys. The other 2012 cards from players that were still playing (that people carried over from the year before) were marked as "not for sale" and were very valuable because the players didn't have a 2013 card yet. Funnily enough that's when the base set was actually worth something and the main trade bait in Bunt. Was a lot of fun before inserts and ultra rare sigs came in. NFS Harper and Trout base were incredibly valuable! Good God this game has changed since the start of last year.... Anyway - Matsui was never actually released, Topps have never removed it from the card sheet for whatever reason. |
