As some may know, I am one of the few with a Mike Trout 2014 Sig. I was so excited about the lock feature when it came out because I could finally lock Mike Trout and not constantly people asking for it when I was trying to get a card of theirs.
But now it seems like the lock does nothing. I keep having people when I ask who they want for something they say UNLOCK YOUR TROUT SIG. Can't people understand that when I lock something, I don't want to trade it. I am getting to the point where I may send it to my backup cause I am sick of always being asked about it!

I get asked about very few times as I am quickly developing a reputation of being a very stodgy trader (that happens when for every good trade offer you get roughly 400 abominations against mankind). That said, it is incredibly annoying when it does happen, and I constantly have to tell people that he is not for sale (that includes Jeter and Berra sigs, too). I would just try to ignore them.

The reason I am upset is because I can't trade for cards that I want because all people ask for is Trout.

I am trying hard to collect all his cards, but I've given up on that, the 1/1 cards, and possibly the ASG award since I can't get those last three. But I think it's just the nature of the rarity, a dash of kids being greedy, and plain old fashioned asshattery, like their deal will make you reconsider the lock.

I would also like also like a VIP nuke dumb trader button, such that when I receive a trade that includes 2 common Blantons for a Bautista ASG sig, I can launch a small ICBM to that person's house and end their misery. |

You would think that when trading with someone with a collection the size you guys have, if it's locked, you really mean it. Unless they changed the lock to hide it from the trade screen, or gave us a hide option.

this is one of the primary reasons that i decided to sell out of my 99% collection. it wasnt just that people were offering on the cards (and yeah, 25 locks didnt come close) but that they would use this argument "you have multiples of it". i saw that every FREAKING day. finally wore me down and out.
ironically, i'm trying to unload a trout sig as we speak so i'm actually welcoming the riff raff.. for the time being. already fielding a ton of the "blanton common" variety. i wish for ignored traders they would get a message immediately telling them to back off. however, what i found was that if you ignore them (dont decline) that they get the gist. if you decline, you'll continue to get them. of course, there's that lovely glitch in the app that automatically accepts some open trades too...

of course, now that i'm on the other side of the fence, i have on occasion inquired about a card - namely the Gordon lightning. only 29 are out there so i'm not pestering that many ppl. a few have actually bothered to negotiate though - they usually are doing the same as i was - to avoid the random trades.
maybe if they came up with a "not trading" designation and a "locked" designation that would work better for us... we can only dream...
