Hey guys, I was just curious if anyone has heard anything of a Topps NBA version coming soon. I know they talked about it possibly coming this season. Maybe they should call it Topps DUNK? Post if you hear anything!
Thanks!

Panini has them, I'm pretty sure. They have a game as well. It's called NBA Hoops

When the deal with the current rights holders ends, they can bid to get the next deal with NBA. Or they could bid on only the digital rights if indeed the NBA separate physical and digital rights.

I think they would only need the NBAPA rights, like they have for the NFL. I personally think that makes for a really lackluster app, but that's just me.

I looked at the NBA Panini app and was quickly turned off by it. Bunt has its numerous issues, but still looks absolutely gorgeous. Panini has this weird dueling system that is quite lame

There are aspects of the Panini app that I like and don't like.
Pros: 1) Marketplace for cards - You can buy and sell cards in the marketplace to complete your collection or sell to others and get coins for packs. Would love to see this feature on Bunt so we could sell back our 100+ Blanton commons.
2) Dueling system - I actually like this dynamic as you compete in a glorified rock, paper, scissors game for coins and XP.
3) Pack prices - Cheap, really cheap packs. You can get 6 packs of gold cards (highest level) for $5 and you get something like 48 cards total. Not bad and you can sell the dupes for quite a bit in the marketplace to let you get MORE packs.
Cons: 1) Collection is very limited - you have three albums with about 300 cards each and nothing more.
2) Cards aren't very dynamic - There isn't too much imagination with the cards provided. It's sad when they have a signature series and it doesn't feature REAL signatures but rather player names written in a cursive font. Very lame.
3) Glitchy - The albums have this weird glitch where you can't add certain cards to them. For instance, you get a card you don't have but the app says you do, although it's nowhere in your album.

I'm surprised that the glorified RPS appeals to you, GP.

I'm surprised that the glorified RPS appeals to you, GP. It's quick, easy and you get coins for it. No real downside.

Presentation issues are the major problem basically. I'd take paninis faults over topps anyday. The marketplace and selling idea would improve bunt no end. But I guess selling commons for coins would be seen as free coins by topps and would mean people spent less (I'd argue that's short sighted given people would buy coins to buy others cards which would more than make up for the difference).
