They're getting close to releasing the reward sigs and it looks like they're going to use Wade Boggs in a Yankees uniform. I'm happy but I know plenty of Red Sox fans are going to be REALLY pissed.

It shouldn't be a Yankee. There was a Yankee for the legend last time, and he was a sox longer

There was a Yankee for the legend last time, and he was a sox longer He was definitely known as a Red Sox player during his career and, as a kid, I always saw him as the rival to Don Mattingly - I think it must have been the mustaches or something. Anyway, he should have been shown as a Red Sox player. At the very least, use this as the picture for the sig:

Topps messed up this time. We all suspected that there was a love for the Yankees (and Trout, but he has a case). Now they're going to throw out a Wade Boggs sig in a yankess uni? C'mon bunt... Top 3 cars in bunt after the miggy and boggs are released: 1. Miggy rc Sig, 2. Berra Sig, 3. Trout Sig, 4. Jeter Sig, 5. Boggs Sig (note that the boggs is just a guess, he could be ranked 3, 4, or 5.) Nevertheless, 3 of the top 5 cards are yankees. A bit excessive don't you think?

I don't chase sigs so I honestly don't care about this card one way or other. But He's in the HOF in a Red Sox cap for crying out loud! Putting this out as a Yankee sig is just foolish.

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. It makes me think that this was done out of spite, because people kind of forced Topps to honor the initial promise of an 11-20 sig when they tried to get away without one. Boggs played his first 11 seasons (and his best seasons) as a Red Sox. He's in the HOF as a Red Sox. His connection to the Yankees is secondary, we all know he went there to ride out his career and he happened to be on that 1996 Yankee team. The back of the sig card says "he is best known for helping the Yankees win the 1996 World Series". Really? He's best known for that, where? In the Topps offices in NY? I would bet that around the country (and especially in Boston) fans would say he is best known for a lot of other reasons.
I went through a lot to get this card, now I don't care anymore.

I am a hardcore Yankees fan and I fully agree with the sentiment. Yes, I stated I was happy as a Yanks fan but in all honesty he should have been featured as a Red Sox player. I have a Tim Raines autograph card at home that shows him as a Yankee and even with that I feel it's wrong (should have been Expos). Seems to be the Topps MO to portray as many Yanks as possible (physical and digital).

If Wade Boggs himself played this and seen that card he would probably say..." Why would they do that?"

If Boggs himself played he'd want this card to show him as a Devil Ray so that he could have the most famous devil ray sig out there! Lol

Janzaruk - I loved this comment from TOPPSMIKE: "rings speak louder than batting titles. And Boggs went into the Hall as neither a Yankee nor a Red Sox." Ok, does TOPPSMIKE know anything about baseball history? And, yes, Luis Sojo is INFINITELY better than Ted Williams because Luis Sojo has a ring. SMH! Stop making us true Yankees fans look bad, TOPPSMIKE!!!

...and TOPPSMIKE has now made me defend Red Sox fans.

So it was a TOPPSMIKE decision? Makes sense now.
Do we really need 15 Yankees sigs this season?
It's bad enough that the sig chase has two Yankees (Jeter and Tanaka) but now two of the three sig chase rewards are Yankees, too (Berra, Boggs).
I know there a lot of Yankee fans out there and on this app, but there are teams without any sigs at all (INCLUDING THE RED SOX).
This just enrages me, even if I wasn't going after this sig.
