Hey all,
So I'm sure you've noticed if you're checking the rosters of the top points scorers for some weeks that there are some people getting very high scores without a particularly impressive collection. Does anyone know how they're making this happen? I'm guessing that the players that are scoring so high without a lot of golds or black boosts are seeing things like home runs happen while watching a game and then they very quickly swap out their lineups, similarly to how people were scoring earlier in the year. But how come everyone isn't able to do this then?
Anyway, if anyone can shed some light on how players like SMSIMON are doing so well (and I don't begrudge him, I know doing well on this is a grind!) I'd love to understand it better.
Thanks! Twinsin2020

I have to agree with Angels2014Champ that it's mostly about the dedication. Sure, a solid collection helps, but having the time to make swaps all day, every day, is most important. When I had a week off work recently, and could follow games all week, I broke top 400 with zero boosts, maybe 20% golds, and primarily silver players. I often couldn't even field 9 pitchers, and had to fill the gaps with pitchers. I even guided my "wife's" account to top 1000 with red and green cards, and my "daughters" account landed around 3000th with just commons. Now that I am back to work and cannot follow every game all weak, my standings have slipped to around 600/1400/5000 respectively (even with slightly better collections now). Sure, I am a long ways behind the big leaders, but my improvements while off work are an example of how dedication matters.

And in regards to "dedication", it obviously helps to play the app through cell phone service. I am limited by only getting to play through wifi. Living in a small town in Canada means I have limited access to wifi. Home, couple of coffee shops, and McDonalds.
Access to sports feeds (tv, etc) is important too. I do not subscribe to specialty sports channels, but know they would certainly help. I actually rely on Bunt itself for most of my baseball game info (other than Blue Jays games). Bad eh? I refer to the Score app from time to time, but just don't have the time (ie: dedication) to stay properly updated.

I have done very well using mlb app to view all the games and using I phone to change my lineup as needed. The lag is tough to beat and you have to look for RBI chances like bases loaded and no outs. If you can not play as many pitchers and look for hitters in good RBI chances you can do very well. The lag has to be in there to give you enough time to let the card warm up and recognize the situation so you can insert hitters. With TV games or local games on the radio it's a little easier to score. Hitters are the key. A gold hitter hitting a 2 run home run is over 300 pts. It takes a good pitching performance to get that.
