I've been trying hard to collect the Golden Moments and TBT series through the season and have had fun "chasing" the sets.
These card counts though are becoming ridiculous...I thought the TBT set was supposed to be relatively easy. Some of the cards have quantities of 2,500 or more! Now with the last 4 weeks of TBT they have gone from the lowest card being a 750 count, down to 600, 500, 350 and now 300 with Doby.
Golden Moments cards have been up and down throughout the year, but with 3 cards left they dropped back down to 250 with George Brett.
I fear what card counts are to come with the last 2 golden moments and the last tbt next week. I am guessing 200 with GM this week and then 150 next week. The last TBT is sure to be a 250 or 200 count.
The set chases have been fun, but now they starting to are get ridiculous...

Speaking of the golden moments...I thought there was going to be an end of season award for collecting them all, but haven't seen anything on the news feed.
Does anyone know if there is indeed a set award?

I agree that the card counts have become unreasonable. Earlier in the season Topps had the news articles where they classified the sets for us, and the TBT and GM were listed as easy/novice. 1:200 odds for 250 count falls well outside the 'easy/novice' realm.
I gave up on all the season-long chases when the counts dropped. I now know better for next year as well.

I agree completely. I fell for it this year. Never again. As we all are learning, it's really about doing whatever is necessary to get you to buy/spend coins. Nothing wrong with a "money first" philosophy, but I don't think that fans appreciate it and will adjust how the approach the app from here on out. I know I will. I will not make the same mistakes again. If SF hadn't made it this far and had several inserts, etc come out lately, I'd probably be skipping most of these cards.
It's too bad. It's not like I don't like collecting, trading, opening packs, etc.
I just have spent to much money on this during the year, and I can't afford to make that mistake next year.
It's been a lot of fun, and I've enjoyed my time on the app and on here, but, at some point, I have to say no.
I'm scarred to death to see the final TBT and GM counts this week. Already been "heartbroken" with the release of the 125 MadBum/Hosmer dual which I may not get for a long time.

Their marketing skills are about as good as their proofreading. What difference does it make if they "print" 1000 or 150 cards? They make more money now, but not considering the long term impact. Why? Because they have proven that the people calling the shots don't care about their consumers. I can understand the Golden Moments and Sig, they set the standards on those chases early. So the people that were THAT serious focused on TBT & FC was just a step above MOA. Now they are driving those collectors out. Up until the ASG, there wasn't a TBT under 1000 count and the asking price for Nolan Ryan and Tom Seaver was still pretty high for a 1000 count insert. Now the value of a "coin" is so obscured they just need an off-season to re-establish what they are doing. For instance... Collect 32 Duos (all <500 card counts) and get 150k in coins and the last 2 are <150 (the rarest of them all). At the same time, collect 4 - 200 count post season legends for the same reward? Oh but the Duos paid out per set, 10k, but what does 10k buy you? 2 packs of base that don't score PTS 95% of the cards anyway. I have been a black vip for few months now and very seriously considering going to f2p next year. Their antics and lack of support in Bunt has already alienated me from putting $1 into Kick or Huddle. I guess I'm just naive and extremely disappointed because I see the entertainment possibilities in the app and then clowns like Mike disrespecting consumers and he is put in a position of representing the brand. I truly hope they can right the ship on this app.
