I have a feeling that this year's version will hurt more than help Topps. Sure there are those that will spend and spend to play. I've bought in year's past but won't continue to do. They are almost forcing you to pay at this point if you want to compete or put together a good collection. Before it was more of a choice of what you wanted to do. Now, if you don't pay, you've got no chance. That to me is the worst part. They've made it so that F2P players are going to be slighted. They increased the daily coins but what's the point b/c all you can purchase is base. What is their to do once you've collected all the base?
I'll play b/c I do still like the overall concept. I just don't much care for them trying to force my hand in order to put together a good collection of digital cards. This app was near perfect to years ago, from the game play to the way they did packs. They've gone from a fun app to a money grabbing machine. That said, it is what it is and there's not a thing I or anyone else can do about it. It's Topps' app and their prerogative to do as they see fit.

Looks like I'll have a lot more time soon. I'll hang around for a while, but they have completely ruined this for free to play. What's worst is the condescending attitude that we can't understand how they've made it better. You want to make packs more expensive, fine. To take half the cards and make them unattainable, that's unfair. Huddle will only get worse and this year's MLS is worrying me for Kick. How is it unfair for them to make half the cards unattainable for free players? In all my years of buying real packs, I've never once pulled an autograph card. And yet I still occasionally buy packs. It seems that a lot of the complaints here are from people who are getting handouts from Topps, and they don't like the handouts they're getting. It's like going to a restaurant and complaining that they give out free bean soup, when you think you deserve clam chowder. Just sayin'. . . Bean soup sounds delicious! |

So, you really have to spend money every day that there is an insert pack out if you want access to it? Really? Even Star Wars hasn't done that (yet). So you buy access to the packs, and then you have to try and pull the inserts with the typical crazy odds that Bunt has become famous for?
Here's the thing - I know Topps is a business. They don't exist, and don't make this app or any other app for people to just download and play for free every day. I get that. I have spent quite a bit of money on all 4 apps, I was black VIP last year on Bunt for a good part of the season. But where I get off the bus is when people that pay get taken advantage of. Like selling us on the concept of a VIP sig as a perk, oh but by the way you have to pull it at 1:50 odds and 6000 coins a pack (Kick does this every month). There is a fine line to walk when you are trying to convert the F2P players to pay players, and this doesn't seem like the best way to handle it. I can tell you right now, I'm not buying coins every day, even a .99 bundle, just to try my luck at some impossible to pull inserts. If there are TBT sets and Golden Moments sets like last year (my two favorite) now I have to buy coins just to spend my coins for those too? Topps, you better rethink this strategy. Maybe it will work in the long run, I really have no idea. But from the outside, as a loyal customer and supporter of all 4 apps, it looks pretty ugly right now.

I wasn't completely free last year and I might have thought of buying this year, but since they came up with this idiotic idea of making me pay every day to have access not only to inserts, but to the higher scoring cards too, that's not going to happen, particularly given what I've been hearing about pull rates. I see they put up one of the free entry contests for opening day, let's see if it's only the free players like myself or whether we are gong to still get dominated by paying players with stacks of golds. The boost limit seems like it will even it out. At the moment I have 2 eligible cards so I may not be that competitive. |

So you can get inserts without paying but you need to pay to get blues and golds? What was the reasoning by the now pay to play thing? With having to pay to get golds and blues?

ToppsMIKE responded to someone talking about the Android release and this was his response:
"Last year we launched Android in June. It's April 2, chill."
He has said previously that he has no control over when it's released, and he was hoping later today.

Yea I had posted that in my post but just took it out because I went to the store and boom it was there to update. But it keeps crashing. Guess I might have to uninstall and reinstall. Won't let me get past the load screen

Ok now that I'm on the app. I spent .99 just for kicks. Its 20k to get the pack that has the golds? And 10k for the pack that has blues?

Werock - did you have to uninstall and reinstall to get it working? My Android version keeps crashing on start also.
