So today I log in and only get 2500 coins. I thought, okay, they drop the coins so maybe they'll drop the pack price as well. Nope!
Yesterday, one could buy two packs (10 cards) and a couple of chances for an insert. Now, a free-to-play user has to wait two days just to get one of those chances. Unfortunately, this means one can practically forget about that 75,000 deck builder pack. That could take weeks to save up for.
Boooooo!

This entire weekend has been a clusterf* that has me seriously reconsidering my use if the app. Between the taking away of login coins despite promises to the contrary, the screw up with GO Boost odds (no way 14,000+ Fielder boosts get pulled at 1:100 and no way that translates to 450 Syndergaard boosts get pulled at 1:10), the Stanton Showdown and the typical head in the sand approach to dealing with their messes, I've about had enough. And from the comments I've seen in all the articles since Thursday I'm far from alone. If insert odds were better than they are I might be ok with the coins issue since I play contests anyways. Honestly this year, that's about the only good part of the 2015 app.

I noticed that myself. It was about this time last year that I bowed out too. I do not play the games anymore, it is too much work. I guess I will have to wait until next year so that I can complete my Athletics as best I can. It will be incredible luck for me if I ever get a crack at one of those sub 100 count cards. I did get one last year and it brought me about 100 cards. It was a good trade.

So, They do their usual tricks, and expect us to be happy. I think they did this because they saw a dip in who was playing the contests and decided to sweeten the pot by giving away 10k coins. Then, they decide to really mess things up and drop the daily to 2500 coins just because they are trying to get the f2p player to spend money. I understand their logic, to a point, but, to drop the daily this much with out any warning?? They are getting desperate to convert everyone to buying customers, or they just really dont give a s&$% anymore..

It's starting to get tough to enjoy this game.

They are getting desperate to convert everyone to buying customers, or they just really dont give a s&$% anymore.. Exactly, their new Play format "Contests" as opposed to Play Card 2014 is too much work to no benefit. Before the top prize for "winning" a contest was LESS than daily free coin payout, naturally, people did not play contests, so to save their new format, they had to make the contest payout more than the daily payout and BAM, the daily coin payout drops 10,000 to 2,500. The made it easier by making you only have to score 400 points to get the 10,000 contest payout but contests are still a fail. Just take 15 minutes to make a deck, see who is playing when at what time and if they are pitching or not and then play guess if my save button actually worked game when making your deck and playing your cards on the small small card play screen. Too much effort from the user to even enter a contest. Have to make deck a special deck and play the cards. My advice, move over to the Star Wars app. I, and all my friends have.

Also, the app is not a game. Even though there is some fantasy baseball kinda side to it, its all about making money. They will just keep adjusting to maximize profits. As the users dwindle they need to keep making money to keep getting the MLB license fee back Topps pays out. Being a digital app, they can make changes instantly as they see fit. Its about keeping the whales happy not the F2P players or small fish. Its on its last legs and I doubt it will return for 2016. I think Topps loses their MLB license exclusiveity at the end of this year if I recall correctly. Plus the Star Wars app is making more on than the BUNT app and with 3 Star Wars movies coming out is the new cash cow. I enjoy the Star Wars app so much more and do not even have a "play cards" feature. But I slowly see the Star Wars app turning into the BUNT app, insert release and paywall access only inserts are on the rise. Looks like these apps are about 3-4 month time before most users burn out. Like Clash of Clans and Game of War, these are micro-transactions apps (not games). My 2 cents. Look at all the former BHK members who have left. and they actually spent money on digital picture cards.

Side note: Unfortunately, BHK is also slow losing members as Topps makes BUNT worse. Oh well. Its only an app to pass the time.

Oh well. Its only an app to pass the time. There it is, ladies and gentlemen. It stinks they pretty much gouged the F2Play players but, ultimately, "its only an app to pass the time". Spending money on it probably causes migraines with all the challenges that go with the app. I guess I'll never get those gold Red Sox unless I pull an insert after waiting two days to get 5,000 coins, only to swap the insert for cards I truly like. No big deal.

No big deal. That is the big problem that ultimately I doubt Topps will be able to overcome. In the end, this is just a way to pass time (although I'll admit, it is one of my favorite apps on my phone). I could never see spending real money for digital cards, because frankly, there is no assurance that this app will last. It could disappear tomorrow and then what for the people who dropped cash on it? You have nothing. Its the sad truth. Buying physical cards is the only thing I'll drop cash on.

While its a little annoying, it's not the worst thing in the world. Getting 400 points in a daily contest is fairly easy even with commons, so at the end of the day, we are getting more coins, we just have to work a little for it. As an F2P player, I can accept that. I feel no more need to buy coins than I did before they made this change.

I'm not sure I understand the 'getting more coins' part. Previously, in one day we would get 10,000 coins. With the current system, including daily contests for 400 coins, we could get up to 2900 coins per day. With a little more work it now takes approximately 3.5 days to get what used to be one day's worth of coins. I don't see where the extra effort really helps. Even if one does seven days of daily contests, that's only 2800 coins which is a little more than half a pack's worth. Might as well watch videos/download apps and skip the contest effort. I would like to think no one does. The decrease makes it a little less fun, though. An F2P player will just have to be a lot more patient and will likely have to come to terms with the fact that he/she may not be able to do much of anything everyday upon logging in.

So if you enter and score 400 points every day you get 12,500 a day instead of 10,000 before.

Except tonight was a prime example of why the change in coins stinks. Most nights earning 400 pts is pretty easy. But one night if several pitchers bombing can easily result in no coins. Mind you I did manage to eek out 511 pts (and pulled all my players to be sure of my coins) tonigh but I really had to work at it after being down -600 pts. How is that easier than getting them for logging in? And honestly how is this good for the app. I'm sure people joining contests and doing bare minimum just to get the coins is not what was envisioned.
