Except tonight was a prime example of why the change in coins stinks. Most nights earning 400 pts is pretty easy. But one night if several pitchers bombing can easily result in no coins. Mind you I did manage to eek out 511 pts (and pulled all my players to be sure of my coins) tonigh but I really had to work at it after being down -600 pts. How is that easier than getting them for logging in? And honestly how is this good for the app. I'm sure people joining contests and doing bare minimum just to get the coins is not what was envisioned. In my first time giving it a whirl, I mainly started good/hot hitters and closers as I didn't have too many starting pitchers. That got me above the 400 points level decently. I would agree that going bare minimum was not likely their intent, but like their recent focus on finding daily coins in the Bulletin, I imagine the Bunt people are just trying to get people to even recognize various features of the app. If people keep accessing what is desired by the Topps folk, then perhaps they'll step up the contest requirements, etc. Regardless, I still miss the daily 10k.

I don't I think I meant it that it was easier, what I meant was that on most nights (love that after I said that last night was rough and i really thought it was going to be a breeze with all of the pitchers going), for a reasonable basic effort you could get 10,000 coins and thus end up with 12,500 every day instead of 10K. I've found that with a halfway decent deck (I have 1 gold and 14 blues total, most of the blues being garbage) that I can finish in the top 10 almost every night in the rookie contests. I have a first place finish 2-3 times a week. The key is timing HR's. I use the ESPN alert app, to let me know about scoring changes, most of the time I can then pop on the app and make a change. 1 or 2 hrs a night can generally get you in the top 3.

I miss the 10K too. I generally expected to buy 2 packs every day, although i save up a little at the end of each week in anticipation of the boost packs. At 500 a pop and I swear, better pull rates on greens and reds, plus the bonus of pulling go boosts they are way worth it.
Granted, I've been getting my 10K from the contests, but there will be nights I don't. I have a second account on my ipad and I didn't on that account, I left it too thin with no hitters and couldn't jump and take advantage of some plays late to dig myself out of my hole.

Actually, Topps is giving us significantly more coins per week (at least this week). You can earn 12,500 coins per day this week, plus a 10,000 weekly bonus AND a weekly 25,000 for beating an opponent (not the hardest thing ever) which is the old weekly bonus. Therefore, instead of 85,000 coins this week, you can have 110,000 if you save (please correct if that math is wrong).

I failed to see anyone mention the fact that the coin drop off was just after the big app review push. Coincidence or by design?

Topps employees may not want to believe it, but I have a life outside the app and don't have time to focus solely on baseball every night. That's the big flaw in their new contest for coins system rather than just for logging on. If I can't play on a night or pay enough attention to recognize when multiple pitchers flame out then I lose out on the 10,000 coins I used to get for just checking in. That's my biggest issue with the new system. What used to be guaranteed coins is now a gamble. Sure if everything works out you can get more coins (tho to earn those additional 25,000 coins you need to spend coins) but if not then you can just a easily get nothing.

The 10K is certainly no guarantee. I usually just plug in some SPs or star players and check back the next day (also no time to continually check). Usually a mix of stars and SPs gets me there, but once I lost 256 points. So you do have a point.

It's not a huge deal but you now also have to go to the Bulletin. I think this is mostly so people will actually use it now. I don't know about y'all but I think the Bulliten is dumb. When I try to though to get my coins it lags and glitches and somehow I end up at my awards lol

I'm officially done. I was very casual "player" to begin with and mostly lurked the boards, but this flat out sucks. I used to have incentive to drop some money here and there to really go for something, but now with our daily coin purchasing power cut 3/4 this past week, makes my willingness to walk away so easy.

The 7 day bonus this week is 50K. I have heard no mention of it. Is this a mistake? A one week thing? Or here to stay? I would think Topps would make a statement about it, but I guess they aren't going to........

I got that last time after 7 straight days, so I think that is the new norm since the 2.5k/day went into effect.

Topps announced 2.5k daily and 10k weekly on may 15 which is what I have gotten the past two weeks. The 50k is new with no announcement I can find.
