With the contestants being announced the past few days I was wondering what you guys thought about it. The contestants are Albert Pujols Josh Donaldson Manny Machado And Prince Fielder for the AL and for the NL is Todd Frazier Joc Pederson Antony Rizzo and Keis Bryant. I am so upset that Cespedes wasn't chosen since he won it the past two years. Even though he hasn't hit a lot of homers during the season he should still be in the derby to try to defend hid title. Each year the winner of the derby should automatically be in it so they have a shot to defend their title. He had a chance to make history but since MLB messed it up even more I thought last year was good. but since they don't want a player who came from out the the United States winning it three years in a row. This is just stupid that he isn't in it. Leave your opinions below

Cespedes stated he didn't want to participate unless he was an All-Star, and he made it to Final Vote, and probably won't make it in. Personally, I would have liked to see JD Martinez instead of Manny Machado, but I'm biased

I think that Donaldson will win In the final round against pujols. Just my opinion but don't think that this year has strong contestants

I thought it was a good home run derby. I would have liked to seen Salvador Perez in it, being how he has hit more home runs this season than 2 of the competitors in the derby, but that's the KC homer in me... I thought the format was awesome, the 30 second add on was a bit much... It was a given everyone was going to get it. Also, definitively think a home town player should be in the derby every year going forward. It was crazy how the crowd was behind Frazier.
Half jokingly, if they wanted to make the derby ultra competitive, they could throw a million at the winner. Players (especially younger players still under team control) would be lining up to be in the contest, and it would get serious in a hurry!
