There are many star players on the market this offseason. Stars such as Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh opted out of the final years of their contracts to test free agency. Teams such as the Rockets, Bulls, and Lakers have been working hard to recruit these star players to their teams. Which free agents do you want your team to sign, and which teams do you think will sign these star players?

As a fellow Thunder fan I'm hoping Gasol will sign with the Thunder. He is in talks with them so he'd make more since then Bosh and be cheaper. I'm thinking LeBron signs back with the Heat.

I called it. I knew the big three in Miami would split up. I say Lebron goes back to Cleveland Wade goes to Chicago. Bosh goes to whoever wants him. Lol. I wish milwaukee had a draw to some big names. Hopefully Jabari will help with that. We jus can never seem to keep anyone good.

It was expected that they'd all opt out but everything I've heard says that bosh and wade are going to take a pay cut to re sign with the heat.

Persoanlly I hate the nba because the Only wind up in the same place. College basketball rocks but the nba just isn't exciting anymore especially when they only talk about the same teams.

I hate the NBA because of Sonicsgate. Seattle is a pretty chill place but if David Stern or Clay Bennett show their faces around here, I could see the city turning downtown into the Red Wedding from Game of Thrones. On a related note **** the Thunder.

Big 3 are splitting up. Interesting how Lebron has handled this. He's played it perfectly to leave Miami and not be seen as the villain like he was when he left Cleveland. He's giving Riley a chance to improve the roster, yet no big name free agent will sign with Miami on severely reduced contract without a commitment from Lebron that he will be there. You think Pau Gasol or Luol Deng is turning down $10mil a year contracts to go play in Miami for $5mil and hope Lebron comes back? If he doesn't, they would be stuck in Miami on a poor contract that would lead to locker room problems.
Why does Lebron quietly want out of the current Miami team? Cause Dwyane Wade doesn't have it anymore. He's a HOFer and one of 5 best 2-guards in NBA history, but his age and injuries have caught up with him. He cherry picked like 55 regular season games to play so he could reduce wear and tear and still broke down. "My client isn't signing there at a discount to get less shots than Wade" was a quote an unnamed agent made a few days ago. That's why the Heat have started targeting guys like Anthony Morrow and Alan Anderson.
That said, Lebron is either going to Cleveland or staying in Miami for one more season and waiting to see how free agency plays out with Love and Durant. If the Cavs make a trade for Kevin Love now, Lebron will sign there. Love is already on record as saying he will sign long term in Cleveland if Lebron is there.
My predictions: Lebron- Cleveland(if they get Love) or Miami(on a one year deal, then he's gone)
Carmelo- New York. Too much money for him to pass up. That's Melo's problem. He wants the money a little too much(can't blame him though) and he never got that fire to play defense hard like Lebron and Wade have and Durant did last year. Melo's unwillingness to play real defense on the other teams star player is probably why he will never win a title despite being one of the 3 best offensive players. If he wants a championship, he should go to Houston or Chicago.
Wade- Miami. He's a lifer. Will retire there and get a big money/recruiter job like Alonzo Mourning. Udonis Haslem will too.
Bosh- Houston. Surprise! If Lebron leaves Miami, the Heat are a 7 seed. Houston, if they miss on Melo, will want to bring Bosh back to his home state. Makes good basketball sense too. Houston can pay him well, plus his ability to play away from the basket keeps the lane clear for Howard and Harden will love driving and kicking out to Bosh for a jump shot. Houston would take a step forward in a tough Western conference.
Pau Gasol- New York. Reunite with Phil whom he had his best seasons under and the triangle offense. Would be sweet if Memphis could get in on this too. Gasol brothers, Conley, and Z-Bo would be an intriguing team.
It's sad how the NBA has turned Seattle into nothing more than a threat to other teams when they need a new arena built in a city. Same thing the NFL is doing with Los Angeles.

Honestly, I do NOT want Gasol. I'm hearing he wants $10 million and OKC could use that many to sign 2-3 veteran role players that are better than Pau. Not sure why you mentioned Bosh, I don't think OKC is even remotely interested in him, plus I don't think they have the money to sign him.

Wade and Bosh are willing to take pay cuts to keep the Big 3 intact. The Bucks have some guys with HUGE potential (Parker, Antetokounmpo), but their development I think will be severely hampered with Kidd at the reigns. Management is a mess in Milwaukee.

I really like your analysis on all of the current big FA situations. Speaking of Memphis, Ed Davis just became a FA, so if Pau is willing to take a small ($2-$5 million) pay cut from the $10 million that he wants, he could possibly sign with the Griz. Honestly, I cannot see Houston ever getting a ring with this squad. Yea, they have star power, but I feel like the chemistry isn't there, especially when D12 is on their team. I don't think Dwight will ever get a ring. He's starting to have more of a negative impact on the teams he's with than a positive one.

This offseason isnt that fun for me...or at least my Warriors. All we have is the trade talks for Love which have died down since the draft. Hopefully we can land a few players to help us off the bench.

That was are biggest weakness last year Center.

Not sure why you mentioned Bosh, I don't think OKC is even remotely interested in him, plus I don't think they have the money to sign him. I have another pretty sizable post coming shortly so I'll just make this point a separate post. OKC should not go after Bosh. Where would he fit in there lineup? Already have Ibaka at PF and Durant at SF. I guess you could play Durant at the 3, Bosh at the 4, and Ibaka at the 5 for a good small ball lineup but that's not worth the money invested. Tim Duncan is too skilled to be guarded by Chris Bosh. Bosh just hasn't played in the post enough in the last couple years to start spending the majority of his minutes there. Bosh's best fit is Houston(other than Miami if Lebron stays). Howard is in charge of the paint. Harden loves to go to the hole, so Bosh gets to continue shooting open 18 footers like he does now when Lebron goes to the hole. And speaking of Harden, I know OKC fans don't want to hear this and GuineaPirates will love it, but that Harden trade is one of the worst trades in NBA history. I understand that OKC didn't know the how much the cap would go up and that they would be able to afford Durant, Westbrook, Harden, AND Ibaka. But seriously, you know what OKC has turned James Harden into? Jeremy Lamb and Steven Adams. Woof. Harden is the best 2 guard in the NBA right now with Kobe old and hurt and Wade broken down. If James Harden was still in OKC these past 2 seasons and makes the superstar leap that he has, there's probably a reigning 2 time NBA champion in the state of Oklahoma. Sam Presti has done really good job building that team. There draft record is insane. But the Harden trade and the still inexplicable decisions to play Kendrick Perkins cadaver big minutes in playoff games has cost them big time.
