one thing of note is, if sigs now have to use mugshots (ala 2013 boost sigs) then the lynch and rodgers sigs are gonna have a little more inherent value b/c of how cool they look. man, i was looking forward to a bunch more like them! That's what I was thinking about the Editor's Choice chase. I was able to snag all three of them before all of this went down. I love the look of those, and the McCoy and Manning cards now appear to be true collector's items. |

Where exactly was the logo. I snapped a Benjamin yesterday afternoon, don't see any logo. Unless it's hidden in his inked arms. logo was everywhere on that pic. helmet, jersey. it was a cool card and shows how cool the app could be, much like the photos on bunt. it'll be interesting to see how this all pans out. im sure the knee jerk reaction will be for folks to bail but im hopeful at least the rest of this season will still be worth sticking around for. the dynamics will definitely shift a bit and ppl will have to adjust. this is essentially huddle 2.0 (a brand new "collecting" season) for 2014. one thing of note is, if sigs now have to use mugshots (ala 2013 boost sigs) then the lynch and rodgers sigs are gonna have a little more inherent value b/c of how cool they look. man, i was looking forward to a bunch more like them! I feel the same way about the Inception cards. Not only do those cards look amazing, they also use different action shots from the parallel base cards. Really nice. |

they could have just took all cards and replaced them with new mug shots.....and they still can......depending on how firm the C&D letter was, they might have to......

I wonder if this is more about shifting resources than licensing. Instead of paying artists to photoshop the players for base cards, they are going to focus on inserts instead. The biggest complaint is the base cards and inserts are exactly the same. This way they can easily pump base cards with mugshot and use the artists to work on the action shots for the insert series.
No one is buying inserts as is so they need to make a change. The inception series shows how good cards can look even with no license.
If this were a licensing issue they would have to had completely removed the old action shots. Just my two cents!

This is what I'm wondering about. Not only for the sigs, but also for the early insert sets that have full action shots and the Megatron and Charles boosts. Unless there is a mass exodus as a result of this change, these early cards are going to have pretty nice value bumps because of the action shots. But, if there are a lot of people who simply bail as a result of the new headshot reality, the value of everything will be in the toilet. The next week or so will tell the tale. |

It is what it is. There were people who were complaining at the beginning that they should have just used to the mugshots since they didn't have logos. Now, people are complaining that they hate the mugshots. Honestly, I don't care much. I play the game to have fun. It'll be fun no matter what. It's gonna kill the cool looking inserts I think. But besides that my only concern is now people are charging out the *** for the "sold out" cards. Someone tried to get me to trade 6 gunslingers, 5 super rares, and 3 scarces for his "sold out" Aaron Rodgers gunslinger because it's ULTRA RARE NOW THAT ITS SOLD OUT. Because my sold out stuff isn't as rare.
It's a game. It's here for entertainment. I'm still entertained I think. We'll see.
